Cicero was a Roman consul and renown orator. He exposed the Cataline conspiracy to overthrow the city, and he sided with Pompey in the civil war with Caesar. Note, he promptly returned to Caesar after Pompey's defeat. Cicero supported Caesar's younger son for the Roman leadership, but was betrayed by him when he joined with Antony, his enemy. Antony condemned Cicero to death. He was tracked down and killed.
