Who is Antony from Plutarch's Lives, Volume 2 and what is their importance?

Antony was a Roman statesman. He rose to power after Caesar's assassination to rule in a second triumvirate with Octavian and Lepidus. Antony left Rome to be with Cleopatra, and he subsequently fought for her against Rome. He took his own life in Alexandria, after he was told that Cleopatra was dead. The information was a untrue.
