The theme of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, is the value of life in all of its facets. Indeed, life's grand events (births, weddings, and deaths,) are addressed and celebrated with varying degrees of detail, as well as its mundane routines (meals, chores, homework etc.) Through subtle interactions and overt commentary, the author gently urges the audience to reevaluate  their attitude towards life and learn to appreciate all of life's allotted moments with loved ones, as well as the blessings of what many refer to as "the little things of life," and realize that these moments have far greater significance than we think.
