Question: English & Literature

Why does Molly decide to leave the foster care of Dina and Ralph?

Molly leaves for a number of reasons that had been accumulating for some time. Ralph is a weak man who cannot stand up to his wife. Meanwhile, it's clear that Dina also takes in foster children for the paycheck. Dina is a brash conservative who insults Molly's choice to be vegan and her fashion choices. Dina also makes racist remarks both about Molly's Native American heritage and about other minorities. When Dina again questions Molly's healthier eating habits and groceries, it is the “last straw” which causes Molly to lash out and question what Dina is doing with the foster care money.
