Ada Ware joins the bride's group wearing black, as if she is in mourning. She is extremely depressed, and she possibly sees the brides program as a way out of her internal prison. Ada's husband, who killed another Cheyenne during a drunken brawl is banished. She stays with him on the periphery of the group throughout the story.
