In Olive's Ocean, by Henke, Martha reads the journal entry that Olive's mother has delivered to her a few weeks after Olive's death. The page details the girl's dreams to live by the ocean (when she turned 18) and that she wanted to be friends with Martha. Martha also learns through the journal page that she and Olive had a great deal in common and that they might have been very good friends if only Martha had taken the time to get to know her. The last sentence on the page states that Olive believes Martha to be the nicest person in her class.
