What (apart from the obvious) is the attraction of the brothel for the bunkhouse men?

In the novel, Of Mice and Men, the attraction of the brothel (aside form the obvious) was that while there they can be someone else. They aren't impoverished farm hands. There they can be big shots, feel good about themselves and forget that the American Dream isn't going to be a reality for them.
