No Country For Old Men is set primarily in Sanderson County near the border between the United States and Mexico. It is the county in which Sheriff Ed Tom Bell has office and in which he believes he can keep the peace. One of the people who lives in his county, Llewelyn Moss, stumbles across a drug deal gone wrong in the desert where he was out hunting antelope. After taking a closer look, and discovering death, drugs and guns, Llewelyn knows that he has just stepped into something best left alone, but the case of money he finds on the last victim is too great to ignore. He takes it home to his wife who waits in their Desert Aire trailer for him to return.
