Who is Jane Johnston and Henry Schoolcraft from Native Roots: How the Indians Enriched America and what is their importance?

Jane Johnston is the first Native American literary writer known. She was of Ojibwa and Irish-American lineage. Henry Schoolcraft was Jane's husband, and an important early anthropologist. The two wroked together to compile information on local Native American folklore. Their researcher laid the groundwork for Longfellow's The Song of Hiawatha.
