Who is Shekure from My Name Is Red?

Shekure is a young, smart, independent young woman. She has two sons and is devastated by her husband's disappearance. She does, however, understand that remarriage is a necessity rather than an option and sets her sights on Black, who she believes will be a good father and provider.
