First, Medea sends poisoned robes and a headdress to Glauce as a gift. Glauce succumbs to the poison, as does King Creon when he weeps over his daughter’s body, clinging to her. Medea also murders her own two sons, fathered by Jason. Thus, Jason neither finds joy in his new wife, nor is he able to see his children again; in fact, Medea refuses to let him bury the bodies or even see them before she flees to Athens, leaving Jason alone in his misery and grief.
