In Chapter Fourteen, Matilda's revenge on Miss Trunchbull is more spontaneous than the pranks she has pulled on her father, but it is still very satisfying and foreshadows similar events in the future. The title of the chapter, "The First Miracle," also tells the reader what they are to expect from the future. Matilda will strike again.
