What part does the chaotic emotions of adolescence play in motivating Lizabeth to taunt Miss Lottie?

I don't know that the "chaotic emotions" played a part in the taunting..... taunting an old woman is cruel, and although hormones do crazy things, taunting your neighbors really doesn't fit in. In my opinion, the children were bored, and Lizabeth's boredom and frustration took her to a whole new level.
