Minette is Carole's mother. She is described as spiritually open-minded by nature. She, Carole and Weiss attend a class on the kabbalah, which incorporates reincarnation into Jewish based writings. After suffering from cancer for four years, Minette is receptive to the past life descriptions Weiss has shared with her in connection with Catherine's therapy. Minette's death, and his participation in assisting her passing into the spiritual state, amplify his belief in the occult.
