How does the author use foreshadowing in Mammon and the Archer?

Anthony Rockwall is a self-made millionaire, as a result, his aristocratic neighbors refuse to accept him.... he may be rich, but he isn't one of them. The fact that they snub him, foreshadows his decision to make them miserable.
