Jack compares hunting to war are these things compareable

There is a sense of violence and death to both. I think it depends on how responsible hunters are, Jack and his hunters are not, and how a war is fought. Within the context of the book, hunting and war are very similar. Note they try to hunt Ralph at the end of the book in order to kill him.
