In Chapter Eleven of Lord of the Flies, how do Samneric, Piggy, and Ralph justify their involvement in Simon's death?

The boys realize on that on some level that they have murdered their friend, but they justify it by putting the blame on everything but themselves. They state that it was the 'dance' that 'made them do it'. They also blame the low light, the darkness.
