In Scene 3 in Act 1, how does Goneril treat her father and why?

In Act I, Scene III, we find Goneril anxious to be rid of her father, whose presence interferes with her own plans to excercise her power. As a result, she instructs her household to treat him rudely in the hopes that he will leave.
