The main conflict in the novel, Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key, is Joey's inability to cope and control his ADHD. His sporadic and impetuous behavior often lands him in trouble..... unintentional trouble. Over the course of the novel, we see Joey battle himself to gain control, and we see the people around him step forward to find him the help and treatments that will best assist Joey to help himself.
