What kind of relationship does Jane have with her mother? Why?

Jane and her mother do not get along. Jane blames her for the abuse that she and Jonathan suffered at the hands of their alcoholic father. She believes that her mother just stood by and pretended nothing was happening. It was more important to Mrs. McKinney to look like she had a perfect family to others.
