How is education viewed in the novel, Jane Eyre?

Education is upheld as a key to freedom and for someone who isn't independently wealthy to survive (aside from less desirous professions). It is also the ONLY outlet for a young woman that is allowed, and is one that she can openly take pride in and gain some sort of emotional satisfaction from.
