Why does the Captain clean Auntie's house?

The Captain decides that he, Louise, and Call should clean Auntie Braxton's home before the women from church organize the cleaning themselves. He knows that Auntie Braxton does not go to church, and that she wouldn't want the women snooping around in her house.
