Who is Speech Therapist from Invisible Monsters and what is their importance?

At the hospital where Shannon recovers from her gun wound, she works with a speech therapist who tells her that learning to talk again without a lower jaw will be easy. The therapist insists that if Shannon can learn to speak like a ventriloquist, she will be able to speak again like a normal person. Unfortunately, Shannon has no luck with this technique.
