Priam and Hecuba's son, Paris, was a prince of Troy and subject of prophecy. In an effort to thwart the prophecy and protect the Trojan people, Priam chose to send his son away. Unable to change destiny, Paris was soom approached by Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera, who wanted him to choose which of them was the most beautiful. Aphrodite..... his choice, then told Paris he could have the most beautiful of mortal women as his wife..... failing to recognize that Helen was already married, thus, the Trojan war began. Paris was unable to stay away and broke every rule amongst men to have the woman he desired..... and the people paid dearly.
