Who is Theodore Herzl from Ideas and Opinions and what is their importance?

Theodore Herzl was the founder of Zionism, but Einstein offers little information about his hero. He was forced by his distaste for nationalism to admit that Herzl founded an entirely nationalistic and political movement. Herzl's short career included planning and presiding over the first Zionist Congress in Basel (1897) and traveling around seeking support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
