Who is Lieutenant Serina Washburn from Ice Hunt and what is their importance?

Lieutenant Serina Washburn is tall for a woman, she is lean and muscular, giving the appearance of a track runner. She wears her hair in a crew cut that while stark does little to lesson her femininity. While working she is all business, and as capable as any man. She is tough and fierce, able to cope under pressure and adapt to any situation. She readily volunteers to remain in the Ice Station while the Sentinel is forced to leave, to guard the remainder of the personnel who have not evacuated. Truly brave, unselfish and unwavering in the face of danger. Washburn is fiercely protective of those around her, and equally gentle with Maki when he is left in her care.
