In I Am Number Four, with Six's appearance the code and protection around all of the Garde has been broken. Before, the rule was that they had to be killed in order. In deviation from this and they were protected. It has helped that Six has showed up to help them do battle, but the double-edged sword is that the spell is now broken and it is officially open season on all of the Garde.
