Both the Tell Tale Heart and the Raven were written by Edgar Allan Poe. Both describe a death and the use of repetition. Both use assonance and consonance to add rhythm and 'sound track' to the tales (if read out loud). However, the Tell Tale Heart was written prior to Virginia's death and Poe's description of death is dispassionate and clinical (though still brilliant), while the Raven was written when Virginia was on her deathbed. In that poem the poet's passion and anguish are palpable. There are more literary references that occur in the Raven as opposed to the Tell Tale Heart, as well.
