Ramsbottom is a rich, British industrialist. He is described as charming, witty, and generous. Unfortunately, Ramsbottom is also a fabulous actor, and the English from whom he gains support and friendship, are summarily used for his own agenda. Specifically, the intent of supporting the South American revolutionaries in the war against Spanish rule.
