What is the main conflict in Holes by Louis Sachar?

The main conflict is for the most part twofold. First, we have the conflict with nature, and the harsh conditions under which Stanley is forced to live. Second, we have the employees of Camp Green Lake, who Stanley must escape in order to escape and free his family.
