Who is Corporal Nobbs from Hogfather and what is their importance?

Corporal Nobbs is an active member of the Watch in the city of Ankh-Morpork. Mr. Crumley calls Nobbs to get rid of the Hogfather figure, Death, who is ruining Crumley's sales by giving away presents. Corporal Nobbs doesn't do as Crumley orders because he is given a wonderful Hogswatch gift.
