Plotinus (AD 204-270) found Neoplatonism and was the last antique philosopher. His life coincided with the end of the Roman empire. Plotinus was born in Egypt, studied and lived in Alexandria. His teacher was Ammonius Saccas, who was to be the founder of Neoplatonism.
