Gorgias is a renown rhetorician, Sophist, and guest in Callicles' house. He is a master of rhetoric, professing superiority in his skills, and the claim that he is an equally good teacher. Gorgias is also boastful, and he has a tendency toward public displays. Although his brevity gains Socrates' approval, he ultimately loses in dialectics.
