By the end of the story, each character's life path has brought them to the Tadfield Air Base. They each go there with the intention of putting a stop to impending doom, regardless of how they think they are going to accomplish the feat. Due to the events that ensue, the challenge leaves each individual forever changed. For everyone, the changes come very quickly. Adam is living the life of an ordinary boy when he notices that strange things are happening. Even though he cannot explain the strange occurrences,, he understands it all once he is faced with his power. At the end of the story, he goes back to living the life of an ordinary boy, but with the awareness of the power he possesses.
