Who is Paul Ignacio Gonzales. from Going Bovine and what is their importance?

Paul Ignacio Gonzales (Gonzo) is a Latino "little person" who attends the same high school as Cameron. He and Cameron share a room at the hospital. Gonzo's mother is described as overbearing and over-protective. Gonzo isn't sure he wants to join Cameron's quest, but he does for Cameron's sake. By the end of the journey Gonzo has come out of the closet and is meeting the challenges and adventures of life head on.
