Eliot Rosewater is the president of the Foundation and is considered to be a lunatic. According to the Foundation charter, an officer can be expelled if he is considered to be insane. Eliot became the president in 1947 and has held the post for seventeen years. He was born in 1918 in Washington DC. and spent his life on the East Coast and Europe. Educated at Loomis and Harvard, Eliot was a skier and a sailor, he also served in the military during World War II. After the war, he finished law school and then eventually became the president of the Rosewater Foundation after his father's death.
