The Rise and Fall of the Mongols is at the centre of this book. Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World tells the story of the Mongol Empire from start to finished, and so is one of the primary themes of the book. The Mongol Empire existed from 1206 to 1368, and at its height reached from Eastern Europe to the Pacific Ocean, making it the largest contiguous empire in the world.
