Recessive Generations are divided into two groups, Reactives and Adaptives, and are placed in the generational lineup to respond in some way to the behaviors, attitudes and activities of the two dominant generations. Reactives dismiss their Idealist elders, becoming the "bad" kids but providing the "can do" muscle during secular crises which Idealists precipitate. Adaptives respond to civic elders by attempting to emulate them, but, due to their overprotection as adults, come to rely on compromise and conciliation as answers to conflict and issues.
