Who is Picrochole from Gargantua and Pantagruel and what is their importance?

Picrochole, King of Lerne, wages war against the kingdom of Utopia because of a conflict between the Utopian shepherds and the bakers of Lerne. He is defeated by Gargantua and promptly flees into obscurity waiting for the restoration of his crown.
