What is the theme in Flush: A Biography by Virginia Woolf?

One major theme in the novel is freedom. Flush wants to return to the freedom he enjoyed on the farm, and Elizabeth wants to escape her sick room. This theme is also illustrated in Mr. Barrett's determination that Elizabeth shoulod be isolated and kept home.
