What evidence reveals that the men at the baker are not Charlie's friends?

Charlie thinks the man at the bakery are his friends because they have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. Sadly, Charlie doesn't realize until much later that the laughs are at his expense.... they're making fun of him.
