Mitch is one of the younger deputies who goes with Teasle into the forest to find Rambo. When the rains come and most of the deputies panic, leaving Teasle and Shingleton to carry Orval alone, Mitch remains behind. However, when Mitch reveals himself to Teasle, it is seconds after Orval washed over the edge of the cliff. Teasle misunderstands Mitch's presence there and he hits him, causing him to become weak and unable to travel well. Mitch is left behind with Shingleton after Ward is shot when Teasle goes in search of Rambo. Mitch is killed.
