Who is Hodges from Fields of Fire and what is their importance?

Hodges enlistment in the Marines stemmed from the long line of ancestors who'd served before him. His father was killed in action before his birth, and he was the last of the Hodges line, but that didn't stop him from becoming a part of the family tradition.... something that made his family proud.
