The language of the novel is very informal. Since it is written from a teenager's point of view, there is a lot of slang. However, the slang is a futurist slang the author invents. For example, instead of saying, "dude" or "man," Titus and his friends say "unit" to each other. There is also a good amount of swearing from Titus and his friends. However, the interesting part is that Tituss father also speaks like one of the kids, as he swears and uses their slang.
