Who is Jose Bove from Fast Food Nation and what is their importance?

Jose Bove is a French sheep farmer. He opposes the new "imperialism" of America through its fast food expansion into Europe. When MacDonalds began to construct a restaurant in his hometown, Bove led an attack on the building and destroyed it. Afterward, he was convicted and sent to prison, where he wrote a book titled, The World Is Not For Sale....Nor Am I!
