Mr. Durbin is the chemistry teacher at Janie and Cabel's school. In the course of taking Chem 2, Janie finds herself becoming the object of Mr. Durbin's attention. At first Mr. Durbin is flirtatious, but he quickly becomes more assertive while continuing to hide his intentions by making it appear that the attentions were all on Janie's part, not his. However, when Janie attends a party at Mr. Durbin's house, she discovers that he has a habit of drugging all the students with GHB and then having sex with them.
