Foreshadowing occurs regularly throughout the text, as the character of Enkidu shares his dreams. Enkidu's dreams foreshadow the defeat of Humbaba, his journey to the Underworld, Gilgamesh's journey through the mountain, and the pair's battle with the Bull of Heaven.
