The Epic of Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh tells the people of Uruk that he is going to defeat Hubaba for them, do you think this is the truth? Why or why not? What do you think his real motivation is for fighting Huwawa?

I need help.

Gilgamesh's initial desire to go to the forest and challenge Humbaba is a form of conceit.... he wants to show off, gain fame, and impress. His challenge is just as much, if not more, for himself than it is for the people.
