Faustus is given many opportunities to back out of his contract with Lucifer. Before Faustus even begins studying magic, he is confronted with a good angel and an evil angel who try to make him see things from their opposite points of view. These angels visit Faustus many times. Faustus is then warned by writing on his arm as he writes the contract. Later, Faustus tries to back out after realizing how he has chosen Lucifer over God, but Lucifer shows him the wonderful perks of hell.
