Who is Martin from Death Masks and what is their importance?

Martin is Susan's ally and colleague. Like her, he is half-vampire and determined to end the power and rule of The Red Court. Over the course of the novel, it is revealed that Martin was dispatched by the enemies of Ortega and The Red Court to end Ortega's life. In the end, he promises Harry that he will take care of Susan for him.
